[What you will be working on] The MOE Digital Excellence and Products Division’s Teacher Productivity team is hiring a top-tier product designer to actively develop and execute discovery to drive scale, tap new opportunities as we design, develop and mature tools that help teachers interact effectively and efficiently with their students and colleagues. Partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering, you will tackle our highest impact problems, influencing the overall area’s strategy for both the short and long term. Your core responsibilities will be to: Independently drive and deliver strategic research and recommendations and materially influencing the vision and strategy Break down complex business challenges into clear research plans; lead the end to end research process and demonstrate strong storytelling skills to deliver significant impact on each product within the vertical Design and lead workshops that inspire collaboration, align stakeholders, and generate actionable insights Harness your product mindset and storytelling chops to influence product roadmap, by framing and telling the story of design solutions, communicating research findings, conceptual ideas, and design rationale both verbally and visually Advocate for the role of Research as a strategic partner in the business process Create service design deliverables including experience maps, user journeys, service blueprints, interaction models, flows, and wireframes Translate concepts into wireframes and low-fi prototypes, iterating quickly based on feedback from users, team, and internal stakeholders [What we are looking for] 5+ years in experience, product, or service design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating both strategic and hands-on work that have led to shipped products Expertise in applying a variety of research methodologies, including both qualitative and quantitative techniques, to address product challenges spanning from opportunity identification, concept testing, to feature iterations The ability to guide decision-making with structured and sharp product thinking, being excellent at laddering key user needs to critical product decisions and broader business impact Takes on a deeply collaborative approach with cross-functional partners and stakeholders, seeing discovery and delivery as a process to build consensus and momentum, instead of simply passively making recommendations A visual and verbal storyteller who can deliver insights about people and behavior, and design decisions in ways that generate empathy and engagement from teams and stakeholders Extensive knowledge of rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototypes across different media Strong sense of ownership over your work, ability to run independently while believing deeply in collaboration, a strong sense of initiative, and a comfort with navigating ambiguity, and comfort in challenging the status quo when it benefits our users to do so While not required, it’s a bonus if: 2+ years in product design and delivery, with demonstrable experience designing and shipping products A deep interest or prior experience working in education, and a love for learning Experience with design systems and agile processes GovTech is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diverse voices and perspectives, as we believe it is key to innovation.
