Description

We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated individual with strong communication skills to collaborate on project teams, secure new business, design innovative products, and ensure high-quality engineering documentation.This critical role within our Engineering department involves the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Create conceptual designs and develop innovative products.
  • Evaluate customer and industry standards and specifications.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, ensuring compliance with customer needs, manufacturing processes, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and cost objectives.
  • Produce and maintain accurate, high-quality documentation.
  • Provide ongoing product support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and enhance manufacturing processes, including tooling, process routings, and work instructions.
  • Lead the design and development of fixtures for machining, brazing, welding, testing, and other operations.
  • Collaborate with experts in machining, brazing, heat treatment, and welding to establish processes that meet customer requirements while optimizing cost and quality.
  • Ensure timely product launches by supporting factory floor operations and releasing documentation promptly.
  • Optimize manufacturing costs through efficient processes and fixture designs.
  • Analyze inspection and test data, including Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) results.
  • Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs), and Material Review Board (MRB) requests.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for process failures and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Prepare cost estimates to support new product quotations.
  • Lead or contribute to cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Research and implement more efficient workflows, methods, and equipment.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Drive or support research and development (R&D) initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 6+ years in manufacturing engineering, with direct experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), product design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Specific Expertise: Hands-on experience with machining, tooling, brazing, and/or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) welded assemblies.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and MRP systems (e.g., Oracle).
  • Familiarity with Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
  • Knowledge of military and aerospace standards, ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5, AS9100, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $128,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
