MAJOR DUTIES: Develops and documents clear product designs. Provides descriptions of components, assemblies, and machines to production and inventory control. Performs any necessary mathematical analysis to determine proper design characteristics. Monitors the product’s performance and initiates changes as required to advance safety, performance, manufacturability, and improve profit. Provides technical assistance to sales and marketing, customer service, production, inventory control, manufacturing engineering, and engineering test/reliability departments. Provides technical consultation to other engineering personnel as required. Provides leadership and direction to other departments for the product line assigned. Supervises performance and activities of personnel assigned to product line. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline and five years of experience is required. A broad understanding of machine structures, mechanisms, metal fabrication, and other manufacturing processes is also required. An understanding of hydraulics, electronics or electrical systems, pneumatics, and machine controls may also be required depending on product line assignment. 2-D CAD, 3-D CAD, and Word processing spread sheet experience is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Some bending and twisting is required. Routine duties will occasionally require lifting approximately 10-20 pounds (and periodically heavier loads.) ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: All work will be done in a timely manner within established quality standards and consistent with Company policies, priorities and needs. The individual holding this position has a broad responsibility for carrying out the objectives of the Company including supporting all company policies, meeting goals, and working as a contributing team member. Performance will be measured on the function/duties described in the position description, accomplishments during the review period, and the methods/work skills used to achieve the goals. Salary Ranges: $86,068- $ 129,103 Annually Compensation will be measured on relevant experience and qualifications.
