Senior Product Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Adopt a strategically focused approach to product development, ensuring alignment with company goals and market opportunities.
- Steer the product vision and strategy for wealth management and financial technology solutions.
- Partner with executive leadership to define the product roadmap and establish priorities.
Business Development & Market Expertise:
- Craft detailed business cases for new product initiatives, encompassing market analysis, competitive positioning, and ROI projections.
- Serve as the product and customer needs expert, conducting thorough market research and staying abreast of wealth management industry trends.
- Identify and assess new market opportunities within the wealth management ecosystem.
Product Development & Roadmap Management:
- Develop and sustain the product roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business strategy and customer needs.
- Lead cross-functional teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch.
- Prioritize feature development based on customer feedback, market demands, and business impact.
Market Positioning & Go-to-Market:
- Effectively position the product within the competitive landscape, creating compelling value propositions for financial institutions.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to formulate go-to-market strategies.
- Develop product messaging and positioning materials for various stakeholder audiences.
Financial Management & Resource Allocation:
- Advocate for funding and manage product budgets efficiently, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Work closely with finance teams to monitor product performance metrics and ROI.
- Present business cases and funding requests to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Experience & Background:
- 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in wealth management or related financial services.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling financial technology products.
- Experience working with financial institutions, wealth management firms, or investment platforms.
- Deep understanding of wealth management processes, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
Technical & Industry Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the financial technology landscape and emerging trends.
- Experience with digital transformation initiatives in financial services.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in wealth management (FINRA, SEC, etc.).
- Familiarity with APIs, data integration, and financial software systems.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
- Strong business acumen with experience in developing financial models and business cases.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex projects.
- Customer-centric mindset with experience conducting user research and gathering feedback.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or a relevant advanced degree is preferred.
- Professional certifications in product management (e.g., CSPO, CPM) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with digitization projects for traditional financial institutions.
- Background in fintech startups or scale-up environments.
- Knowledge of portfolio management systems, trading platforms, or financial planning tools.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Previous experience in the Canadian financial services market.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $60.00-$85.00 per hour
