JOB SUMMARY

Index Engines, the world’s leading analytics engine for detecting corruption due to ransomware, is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager – Backend to drive innovation in backend infrastructure, ensuring high-performance, scalable, and secure data processing for the CyberSense platform. This role will focus on developing resilient backend capabilities that enhance system efficiency, cybersecurity, and large-scale data analytics.
As a Product Owner for backend-focused scrum teams, the candidate will work closely with engineering, UI/UX, and infrastructure teams to define, prioritize, and execute backend initiatives critical to data integrity, storage performance, and security. The Senior Product Manager will collaborate across Product Management, Engineering, Security Operations, and Technical Pre-Sales to develop next-generation backend solutions that enable rapid data analysis, cyber threat detection, and secure enterprise storage.
This role requires expertise in enterprise software architecture, distributed systems, and data management technologies, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, storage resiliency, and high-throughput data processing to ensure robust and scalable backend services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in product management with a focus on backend system design, database architecture, and enterprise software development.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with backend development workflows (i.e. restful APIs, server-side processing, data modelling or handling, SQL queries, CRUD actions, DevOps)
• Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle best practices.
• Proven ability to define and manage backend product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with broader product and business objectives.
• Expertise in enterprise-grade software with a focus on data analytics, cybersecurity, data protection, or storage solutions.
• Experience with distributed systems, high-throughput data processing, and scalable backend architectures.
• Ability to decompose complex architectures and collaborate effectively with engineering teams on backend system improvements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a structured approach to evaluating backend system performance and reliability.
• Experience working with OEM partners and managing backend integrations is a plus.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and drive execution.
• Experience leading Agile Scrum teams, grooming of backlogs, and assessing priority.Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment (onsite within office and remote) with occasional travel as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with database products and technologies (Indexing, SQL, NoSQL).
• Security awareness (data integrity, Zero Trust security models, OAuth, OIDC).
• Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and cyber resiliency workflows and solutions.
• Prior experience with high-performance computing (HPC), data lakes, or analytics-driven backup and/or security applications is highly desired.

• Serve as Product Owner for backend-focused scrum teams, managing the product backlog and driving execution.
• Define and oversee Epics and User Stories, collaborating with engineers on backend system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Work closely with UI/UX product owners to ensure backend services align with front-end functionality and user experience needs.
• Engage with customers and OEM partners to gather feedback, validate backend feature requests, and refine product development priorities.
• Optimize data processing, security, and resiliency within backend architectures for large-scale data protection and cybersecurity analytics.
• Develop and maintain scalable backend architectures, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and integration with security and compliance frameworks.
• Align backend enhancements with enterprise security best practices, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Leverage a data-driven approach to prioritize backend features based on system performance metrics, customer needs, and evolving cybersecurity threats.
• Provide strategic input to sales and marketing on backend technology differentiators and product innovations.Stay ahead of emerging trends in enterprise data security, analytics, and backend system design to guide future development.
