Description
Digital Scientists (DS) is a product design and development firm that has been helping companies build custom software products and digital platforms since 2007. We partner with organizations across healthcare, logistics, and new ventures to define strategy, design user-centered experiences, and ship software that works for real people. In this role, you will manage the client relationship, drive the product roadmap and lead custom software product delivery, guiding stakeholders from early discovery through launch and iteration. You are exceptional at turning ambiguous business goals into clear product direction, facilitating high-impact client workshops, and translating business requirements into actionable technical specifications. You bring structure, momentum, and clarity to complex engagements—while keeping teams aligned to outcomes that matter. At DS, Product Managers work collaboratively with clients to understand organizational goals, uncover user needs, and shape solutions that answer hard questions. They guide cross-functional teams, including software developers, designers and design strategists through ambiguity, define the right product approach, and safeguard the overall quality of each engagement. They facilitate day-to-day communication, tasking, and budget awareness across internal teams and stakeholders. Above all, they cultivate a culture of clarity, trust, and steady forward progress grounded in strong product thinking and user-centered decision-making. This is a hybrid role, working in our Alpharetta Georgia office 3 days per week. Lead Product Strategy, Roadmap & Account Ownership Lead custom software product discovery and translate insights into clear direction, user stories, and roadmaps. Proactively identify risks, tradeoffs, and pivots—then guide the team and client to confident decisions. Provide clear product direction to software engineers and UX designers, ensuring day-to-day execution aligns to strategic outcomes. Map and optimize user flows, system workflows, and user journeys — independently and in partnership with design and research. Define and socialize product vision; keep outcomes tied to business goals and user needs. Run High-Impact Client Workshops & Consultative Meetings Build trusted relationships with client partners, including executives, operators, and technical leads. Confidently facilitate conversations and workshops with senior leaders, helping them clarify goals, make tradeoffs, and align around product direction. Turn complex subject matter (often healthcare-related) into product plans that make sense. Ask sharp, thoughtful questions that surface real needs, assumptions, and success criteria. Translate workshop outcomes into actionable product plans and next steps. Champion Users and Product Quality Partner with UX Design and Research to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into product direction. Ensure user workflows, journeys, and experiences are intuitive, useful, and aligned with real-world behavior. Support research and usability testing and use findings to refine scope and priorities. Lead QA efforts and release readiness to ensure each launch meets DS standards for clarity, functionality, and value. Translate Business Needs into Technical Execution Capture strategic business requirements and convert them into detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Partner closely with engineering to validate feasibility, explore alternatives, and understand tradeoffs. Break down complex workflows into clear, buildable specs that teams can execute against. Ensure product decisions reflect both user empathy and technical reality. Own Delivery, Metrics & Continuous Improvement Lead agile software delivery, guiding sprint planning, estimation, sequencing, and milestones in partnership with engineering leads and the rest of the product team. Maintain visibility into progress, dependencies, budget, and scope—and communicate clearly to client and internal teams. Define success metrics, ensure instrumentation is planned, and evaluate performance post-launch. Drive iteration based on outcomes, feedback, and changing business needs. Experience & Skills 5+ years in Product Management building custom software products across web and/or mobile. Demonstrated success delivering software products end-to-end, including zero-to-one work. A track record of incorporating user research and feedback into product decisions. Skilled at moving between big-picture strategy and detailed execution (roadmaps → user stories → release plans). Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day work—whether for research synthesis, drafting user stories, generating options, or accelerating analysis—and able to distinguish when human judgment is required. Experience in consulting/agency settings where ambiguity, changing scope, and stakeholder complexity are the norm. Bachelors Degree or equivalent work/educational experience Technical Fluency & Business Requirement Translation Skills Confident working with modern web and mobile stacks; able to hold credible technical conversations and make informed product calls. Able to translate technical concepts—API design, data models, system architecture, AI integration patterns—into clear decisions and user-facing impact. Able to distinguish bugs, functional updates, and feature-level scope changes during QA and release cycles. Communication & Ways of Working Strong communicator comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders. Self-starter, willing to dig-in and drive a product forward. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and principles, user experience design, product management, and business analysis skills. Sense of urgency and speed to deliver results while still ensuring that everything each client receives exceeds our standards of excellence. A systems thinker who can connect user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into a cohesive product strategy Bonus Skills Exposure to healthcare systems or clinical workflows is a plus. Experience working in a consulting or agency environment. Basic understanding of how AI/ML systems are architected and used in digital products. Pragmatic Institute or Scrum certifications. Collaborative, human-centered culture. Opportunities to work across diverse industries and product types. Professional development support. Competitive salary and benefits: Company-paid employee health coverage Generous PTO and parental leave 401(k) with employer match A place where product thinking, craftsmanship, and curiosity are valued. * Unable to provide Visa sponsorship for this position * Must be available to work onsite 3 days per week in Alpharetta office * Please apply with a brief Cover Letter and your Resume About Digital Scientists Digital Scientists is a digital product agency that drives client growth through innovation.
