Description

At DN Media Group, we work to create products and solutions that allow our journalism to shine and give the reader the insight they need to make better decisions.
As a product manager for our editorial products, you work at the heart of the company. The product team is responsible for how we present our journalism digitally, how we excel in digital storytelling, personalise the experience and create smarter ways to consume news. You will build solutions for ten different publications who are market leaders within their sectors: shipping, seafood, energy, and business news. Across our titles we have more than 3,5 million visits every week, which means that a lot of people will benefit from what you work on every day! You will work from Oslo, but you will also be part of a global team with colleagues in London, Singapore, Dhaka and Stamford.
In your new job, you are responsible for finding the problems we should solve, assessing ideas and deciding which services we should create and deliver. You work closely with the editorial teams, designers, and developers to prioritise the work to be done, and you help determine the best technical solutions. If this sound like fun to you, here are some more details:

Responsibilities
  • You set the team first and focus on collective wins above individual results.
  • You set your team up for flow and speed by providing day-to-day priorities, clear goals and a long-term product strategy.
  • You are comfortable with saying no and shield the team from distractions.
  • You are pragmatic and pave the way for your team by solving blockers.
  • You focus on user problems before solutions, and manage to balance business value, technical feasibility, and user needs.
  • You develop a deep understanding of internal and external users’ needs.
  • You familiarize yourself quickly with complex issues and use your excellent communication skills to make it easy for both technical and non-technical colleagues to fully understand the problem.
  • You make sure your team balance their time between discovery and delivery in the most impactful way for users and business.
  • You make sure your team use quantitative data and qualitative user insights to drive continuous improvement and to discover new business opportunities.
  • Take accessibility needs, laws and regulations into consideration when the team solve user problems and develop solutions.
  • You establish healthy and good relationships in the team and actively contribute to a social and professional sense of belonging in your team and in the wider work community.
