JOB SUMMARY

At Ofgem, we’re transforming the foundations of our digital infrastructure. The Legacy Upgrade Project is a strategic initiative focused on modernising and securing the platforms that support several critical schemes within Digital Delivery. We’re upgrading legacy systems to ensure resilience, compliance, and long-term sustainability. We’re now looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead this transformation; someone who can shape a robust, future-ready platform, drive strategic decisions and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful impact.
Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We’re at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers - especially vulnerable people.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Product Manager to join a dynamic team responsible for managing the suite of products that facilitate the government’s support schemes. In a fast-paced environment utilizing agile methodology, your ability to deliver swiftly and effectively will be crucial. As an integral member of an innovative and collaborative team, you will be empowered to make key decisions and work alongside colleagues from diverse backgrounds and expertise to ensure the products meet specified needs. This role offers exposure to multiple teams and the chance to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, enabling you to shape Ofgem’s digital journey and gain valuable insights into the broader energy sector.
We are seeking a highly experienced individual in Agile development and product management who can lead effectively and manage diverse stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional Organisational skills, a strong ability to prioritise tasks, and the capability to address complex challenges. This role involves working on a Legacy Upgrade Project, which demands bridging the gap between old and new systems while balancing technological constraints. Responsibilities include overseeing various testing strategies such as integration, regression, and end-to-end testing, as well as supporting the creation of updated system documentation, business value, and user requirements.
The success of the Legacy Upgrade Project hinges on the Product Manager’s unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and superior communication skills. Upgrading legacy systems is one of the most challenging and crucial tasks in the technology sector. The Product Manager’s pivotal role requires balancing technological constraints with business value and user needs to achieve successful outcomes.
We have a critical purpose to deliver best-in-class regulatory solutions that support our industry. By leading this transformation, you’ll help ensure Ofgem meets its statutory obligations.
