Are you ready to lead the future of programmable controllers in the HVAC industry?
At Danfoss, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Product Manager to join our team at the Innovation Campus in Mestre, Italy. You will be responsible for overseeing the Danfoss programmable controller platform, driving innovation, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
In this role, you will manage the development of a new standard platform for programmable electronic controllers, integrating embedded software components and coordinating with internal teams and external developers. Your focus will be on ensuring robustness, scalability, and flexibility through open standards.
This role will be based at our Innovation Campus in Mestre, with some flexibility for smart working. Alternatively, it can be based at one of our technology hubs in Nordborg, Denmark, or Hamburg, Germany.

BACKGROUND & SKILLS

This position requires a self-motivated candidate with passion for innovation in the Climate markets of Danfoss, supporting and driving forward established and new Danfoss system solutions for the HVAC market – and a natural interest for digital innovation, digital control systems and Software.

  • Academic background in Electrical, IoT disciplines, or a related field, with a specialized focus on automation systems, digital controls, thermodynamic engineering, or equivalent areas of study.
  • Previous experience in similar roles within moderately structured, international contexts, managing multidisciplinary and multicultural stakeholders distributed globally, preferably in the HVAC, building automation, or related industries.
  • Experience from the HVAC business, building automation business, or similar, with control-based systems and interconnected products.
  • Knowledge of digital control systems, PLCs, IEC 61131-3 programming languages, cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443), and HVAC systems. Familiarity with and a genuine passion for IoT connectivity is a plus.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and strategic planning abilities. Proficiency in market analysis, with a focus on collaboration and inclusive decision-making.
  • Self-motivation, drive, and ability to work independently.
  • Experience in the development of both internal and external knowledge networks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% within Europe and the Americas.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Italian is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the Danfoss programmable controller platform, aligning with market needs and company goals.
  • Innovation Leadership: Lead the cross functional team to drive innovation and continuous improvement in product design, functionality, and user experience.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs –make & communicate impactful product prioritization decisions based on diligent, strategic and transparent criteria
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Customer Focus: Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand their requirements, and ensure our products exceed their expectations.
  • Operations: Collaborate with the organization on all relevant product/service aspects from hands-on product development, pricing & packaging, to customer relationship management
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure products comply with industry standards and regulations, including cybersecurity and environmental requirements.
