MINIMUM EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, business or related field with 4+ years sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of success OR 6+ years sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with several teams (ACE, DEV, Marketing, PM etc.) and hierarchies within the organization.
  • Works independently with limited managerial guidance
  • Knowledge and understanding of the product market position
  • Knowledge of sales fundamentals
  • Ability to foster collaboration & coordination with personnel distributed globally
  • Aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine appropriate solutions for customers.
  • Fluent in English and in the local language of the territory
  • Travel: up to 50%

Responsibilities

SUMMARY / ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Product Sales Manager (SPSM) for Cloud (m/f/d) is responsible for driving and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow Ansys’ usage in the cloud. Acting as a key link between the sales and engineering teams, this role focuses on expanding cloud adoption and profitability at Ansys across all cloud options.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the continued growth of cloud-based offerings by providing cloud-based solutions to Ansys customers. They will excel in presenting to customers, identifying their needs, and crafting compelling value propositions that align with business objectives.
With a deep understanding of customer business priorities and performance metrics, the SPSM will effectively communicate the value Ansys’ cloud products deliver. A technical background, particularly in simulation and cloud technologies, is essential to align customer objectives with the technical viability of emerging cloud products.
As a subject matter expert, the SPSM will be responsible for achieving direct sales quotas within the cloud product line while supporting overall success across all cloud offerings, all within an overlay structure.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs product sales activities for new/renewal business for one or more assigned product lines to achieve or exceed assigned product and service revenue objectives.
  • Sells products/services through telephone as well as face-to-face contact.
  • Partners with field and enterprise sales within Ansys and Channel partners, to collaboratively develop and execute strategies that drive product and service revenue as part of an overall account strategy.
  • Uncovers opportunities in current and new accounts for specific product or solution and hand over to direct sales team.
  • Facilitates communication with the sales and technical team with respect to updates on product capabilities, success stories and winning strategies.
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business for the organization’s products and services.
  • Participates in industry shows and conventions.
  • Creates advanced solution presentations to match identified customer needs using company’s products & services. Identifies Ansys advantages and positions Ansys’ products and services as superior to competitive offerings.
  • Coordinates and organizes technical (ACE) support for demos, PoCs, support of evaluation, training etc.
  • Works with team members to develop clear and effective written proposals, quotations, and value propositions for current and prospective customers.
  • Provides client feedback to product development and marketing staff.
