Description:

Title: Senior Product Sales Specialist, Trim & Doors
Reports to: Executive Sales Manager
Location: 370 Green Road, Stoney Creek, ON
Position Summary: The Senior Product Sales Specialist is responsible for acting as the primary contact for Builders, Renovators and Homeowners engaging in a construction project. The Senior Product Sales Specialist is responsible for completing site measures and quality take-offs for all key product categories (Trim & Doors, Windows, Siding, and Exterior Doors) for their accounts, and completing administrative tasks (CRM, Forecasting, Accounts Receivable, Monthly Reporting).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School.
  • Completion of a three-year College program in civil or construction engineering technology; or several years’ experience as a qualified tradesperson in a construction trade such as carpentry or plumbing.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Experience of construction industry is an asset.
  • Basic building code and residential framing knowledge.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Service:

Construction Material Quoting and Estimating:

  • Analyzes blue prints and preliminary drawings.
  • Completes quality take-offs for all products required including trim and doors, exterior doors, siding and windows.
  • Completes site measures for all Trim & Doors products.
  • Hand off EWP, Trusses, and Lumber take off opportunities to Turkstra Design and Sales staff.
  • Deals directly with vendors and completes special orders as required.
  • Seeks new business through referrals and cold calling.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintains a comprehensive account plan for assigned customers.
  • Updates account information in company ERP and CRM (where required).
  • Nurtures and sustains customer relationships through relationship-building activities, swag, etc.
  • Keeps customers updates regarding promotions, policy changes, and other pertinent business information.
  • Maintains sales logs.
  • Prepares annual sales logs.
  • Meets financial objectives by overseeing the management of accounts receivable for all assigned accounts.
  • Built-it-Better coaching or retail customers.
  • Works to integrate with customers social media platforms and puts Turkstra Lumber signs on job sites we are supplying.

Managing Pricing and Competitive Situations:

  • Follows Turkstra Sales Process.
  • Understands and uses product category pricing strategy appropriately to win projects.
  • Exercises proper judgement to maximize GM within pricing parameters.
  • Receives approval before going outside of pricing parameters.
  • Fills out proper pricing nomination forms.
  • Provides copies of competitive quotes market information to Sales and Purchasing teams.

Business Objectives:

  • Works together with the Branch and Sales Teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Promotes all Turkstra Lumber manufacturing divisions (Mill, Trusses, Floor Trusses, Panels, Lawson Lumber) & specialty divisions (Design Centre, Trim & Doors).
  • Supports the Turkstra Lumber Build-it-Better program.
  • Participates in social media opportunities and assists the Marketing Team by providing relevant content for web and social media.
  • Shares in the responsibility of taking inventory.
  • Participates in branch and/or company lean projects.
  • Ensures the availability of products and services through coordinating with Managers and Manufacturing plants to fill customer orders; arranging and prioritizing deliveries.
  • Lead generation and follow through on referrals as provided to us by current customers; carpenters, framers, architects, designers etc.

Professional Development:

  • Understands and follows all role specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Completes the sales onboarding 30/60/90 plan.
  • Understands and works towards proficiency in all sales criteria.
  • Actively seeks out opportunities to expand knowledge, through reading, website reviews, vendor presentations, etc.
  • Completes Sandler Sales Training Bootcamp.
  • Attends regular Sales Meetings.
  • Completes BIB certifications in Windows/Doors, Siding, and Trim & Doors.
  • Attends Turkstra University classes.

  • Accounts Receivable.
  • AR - Enter note in system.
  • New Account Set Up - ID Verification & Customer Channel.
  • Customer Qualification.
  • Hand off job/account via ESM.
  • Quoting.
  • Hand off - Sales to Design (Trusses, EWP, Floor Truss, Panel).
  • Hand off - Order to Branch / Central Distribution.
  • Special Pricing Nomination.
  • Special Order Process.
  • Customer Dispute Process (credit).

Sales Reporting/Forecasting/CRM SOPs:

  • Monthly 4DX Meeting (use of meeting agenda).
  • Sales Reporting & KPI Dashboard.

  • Top Opportunities – Wallet, New Business, Infill.

Other Duties:

  • Responsible for any and all other duties as may be required from time to time in accordance with proper training and certification requirements
