About the role Excillum designs, develops, and manufactures X-ray sources used for quality assurance in industries such as semiconductor, electronics, and battery manufacturing. Other applications include drug development and research in fields like biology, medicine, and material science and today we have customers across Europe, Asia, and the United States. We are now in an exciting phase as we continue the industrialization of the company, and an important part of this journey is to further develop our production and build for the future! You will be part of a team of 11 people consisting of, for example, assemblers, commodity managers, and warehouse staff. In addition to that, you will work closely with your immediate manager as well as other experts in electronics, mechanics, software, research, marketing, and sales, among others. Today, we are around 90 employees at our headquarters in Kista, with both labs and production in-house. A few words from your future manager “Hi! In this role, you will be a key player in turning ideas into stable, efficient, and scalable production. You’ll work closely with several departments and play a central role in driving improvements and developing the way we work. To support this growth, you will play a key role in creating structure, driving improvement initiatives, and ensuring that all assembly and integration processes for our X-ray sources are efficient, standardized, and continuously improved in line with Lean principles. Your responsibilities will include, for example: Support daily production of X-ray sources and subassemblies by providing technical guidance and resolving production-related issues to ensure stable flow and minimize downtime. Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) and implement Lean principles in production, with focus on waste reduction, flow efficiency, and visual management. Develop, maintain, and improve production documentation (assembly instructions, process descriptions, build records, and visual standards) to secure consistency and high-quality output. Design, optimize, and maintain the production layout, ensuring efficient material flow, good ergonomics, and scalability for future volumes. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with Test, Quality, and Hardware Engineering teams. Identify and drive improvements in tooling, fixtures, and assembly methods to enhance productivity, quality, and operator safety. Ensure production equipment readiness, including calibration, preventive maintenance, and continuous development of production tools. Maintain order, cleanliness, and safety in the production area, in line with 5S principles and company standards.
