The Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives division provides strategic and integrated policy and project services and functions for the ministry. The division’s focus centers on cross-divisional and cross-ministry projects such as strategic policy initiatives and business transformations.

QUALIFICATIONS

University graduation (Business, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Science) in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience in policy and formal written communication.

Responsibilities

The Indigenous Policy and Services Unit has an exciting opportunity for an agile and driven professional to work as part of a dynamic team that delivers key programs and initiatives that support Indigenous peoples in their interactions with the justice system.
Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Policy and Services, the Program Advisor, Indigenous Policy and Services is responsible for:
Stakeholder engagement: Foster sustainable positive working relationships with diverse partners to support ministry priorities.
Briefing and reporting: Prepare reports, recommendations, briefing materials, and make presentations to internal and/or external stakeholders for information and/or decisions on emerging energy trends and opportunities. Synthesize and translate critical information for policy and informational use.
Evaluation, research and analysis: Plan and complete research projects to inform program development and implementation. Analyze program data to support the development of program strategies and program delivery of a number of programs including the Indigenous Court Work Program and the Gladue Report Program. Conduct cross-jurisdictional and environmental scans to identify best practices and inform program improvements.
Program development and continuous improvement: Support the operationalization of specific program strategies, consolidate program updates and reports and assist in identifying recommendations across programs to inform senior and executive decision-making. Identify emerging trends and opportunities for program improvement. Identify and research appropriate performance measures for program outcomes. Gather, synthesize, and interpret program data, and communicate information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Project management: Develop and manage project plans and complete projects for program monitoring and evaluation to demonstrate their value in alignment with program objectives.
