About the Position Are you a senior program leader eager to drive large-scale industrial investment programs that will transform the world’s leading manufacturer of metal powders towards the sustainability benchmark within the steel industry? About the position Höganäs AB is seeking a Senior Program Manager within the Powder Metallurgy Division (PMT) to lead two of its most strategically important for the transformation of one of the company’s key product families. These initiatives are at the core of securing the long-term sustainability of Höganäs’ iron sponge production and enabling the company’s ambition of being a leader in sustainable innovation. The Senior Program Manager will coordinate multiple projects within the programs, prepare strategic decision material for Group and Divisional management as well as the Board, and ensure structured governance, reporting, and risk management. The role combines strategic and operational responsibilities, from feasibility studies and pilot testing to developing business cases for potential large-scale industrial investments. This is a pivotal position where you will collaborate closely with internal experts, external partners, and new value chains – playing a key role in shaping Höganäs’ transformation journey. The position is a permanent position located in Höganäs, Sweden. Experience and Competencies +10 years of experience from program management/project management in large-scale industrial and investment projects Strong background from process industry (preferably steel, mining, energy, chemicals or automotive) Proven ability to lead complex, multi-project programs with both strategic and operational responsibilities Skilled in resource planning, managing dependencies, and aligning cross-functional teams in international organizations Experience working with steering committees, executive management, and boards – including preparation of decision material and business cases Familiarity with structured project management frameworks (PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2, or similar) Fluency in English, both spoken and written; Swedish is a merit Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, industrial management, or equivalent experience Desirable to have experience from major capital investment projects (new plants, facilities, large-scale process changes) Desirable to have knowledge of sustainability and green transition initiatives, ideally with practical involvement in reducing carbon footprint or implementing alternative materials/processes Your Profile – Personality & Leadership Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret, model, and present complex data for strategic decision-making Strong communicator with excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills High integrity and ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term execution Pragmatic and solution-oriented, with ability to navigate uncertainty and new, unproven processes Motivational leadership style – able to inspire, challenge, and align cross-functional teams and earn trust from both senior specialists and executive management Flexible and adaptive, open to new approaches and drive continuous improvement Application and contact Application deadline: 30 October 2025.
