Organizational Context and Scope Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission of IOM Coordination Office for the North Pacific, and the direct supervision of the Head of Sub Office in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and in close coordination with the Programme Officer in Pohnpei, FSM, the successful candidate will support programme activities that includes but not limited to developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) with national and State Disaster Coordination Offices (DCO’s)/Department of Environment, Climate Change and Emergency Management (DECEM). S/he will provide technical expertise on emergency response contingency plans/SOP’s, post-disaster damage (IDA’s) and other assessments, coordination with Protection Cluster in developing Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, Psychological First Aid (PFA) trainings, and development of dignity kits.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support programme activities including developing Standard Operating Procedures with national and State Disaster Coordination Offices. They will provide technical expertise on emergency response plans and assessments, and coordinate with the Protection Cluster.
