Senior Project Accountant Company: BGIS Location: Sydney, NSW 2000 Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our Advisory Services finance team in Sydney. Reporting directly to the Finance Director – Advisory Services, this role plays a key part in supporting the Project & Development Services (PDS) finance function. You will provide financial insight, commercial support, and accurate reporting across a portfolio of projects, working closely with Project Managers and senior stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong project accounting experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities * Update and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) reporting based on Finance Control Sheets from Project Managers  * Prepare monthly client billings, revenue and expense accruals, including supporting documentation   * Assist with Percentage of Completion (PoC) calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance  * Maintain and reconcile the general ledger in line with accounting policies  * Support month-end activities, including accruals, margin analysis, and cash flow reporting  * Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and insights  * Provide financial guidance and training to Project Managers on budgets, cost tracking, and processes  * Identify and drive process improvements across finance operations  * Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Lead and broader finance team About You * CA or CPA qualified (or currently working towards)  * Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting  * 3+ years’ experience in project accounting, with strong exposure to Percentage of Completion (PoC) methodology  * Solid understanding of IFRS 15 and its application in project-based environments  * Broad accounting experience (ideally 5+ years) with strong technical capability  * Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills  * High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint  * Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills  * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality output Why Join BGIS? ✔ AFR Best Places to Work 2024 & 2025 ✔ Award-winning DE&I culture (Work180 Accredited) ✔ Leadership development & internal career mobility ✔ Health & wellbeing programs including EAP & flu vaccinations ✔ 2 paid volunteer days each year + donation matching ✔ Recognition programs & innovation initiatives ✔ Global organisation with 12,000+ people and 50,000+ sites ✔ Sustainability-focused workplace  Join BGIS and be part of a company that values innovation, integrity, and service excellence.
