Our client, a well-established property developer in the Waterloo area specializing in mid- and high-rise residential developments, is currently looking for a Senior Project Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing project costing, budgeting, managing government grants, funding, and tax credits for major upcoming projects, all while reporting directly to the CFO.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Accounting.
• Prior experience within the Construction industry is an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• CPA designation would be considered an asset, but is not required.
• Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance is required.

• Oversee various transactions for projects, including time-sensitive payables, and ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, track actuals versus forecasts, and handle all project-based accounting.
• Oversee accounting for upcoming large-scale projects.
• Manage government grants, funds, and tax credits related to ongoing sustainable construction projects.
• Develop, implement, and lead process improvements where necessary.
• Provide support to the finance team as needed.
