QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience with composite materials and/or elastomeric materials
  • Experience with 2D and/or 3D modeling software

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER

  • Experience with MRP/ERP Systems, preferably SAP
  • Experience with GD&T
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, ACE or CORE
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic statistical analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Experience performing FEA.

Collins Aerospace is looking for a motivated Senior Project Engineer with composites or elastomers experience to join our dynamic team. You will provide materials and process support to manufacturing operations for the naval value stream. You will need to be a curious and relentless problem solver bringing your skills and abilities to bear on issues and opportunities arising on our legacy programs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide support for legacy programs in the areas of process improvement, design changes, material obsolescence, tooling and fixture change modifications, etc.
  • Work independently and manage small projects
  • Research and resolve challenging materials and process issues
  • Performs hands on work in test lab and on the shop floor
  • Create and modify drawings and solid models
  • Create and modify specifications and process documents
  • Generate technical reports
  • Perform basic statistical analysis
  • Utilize lean manufacturing methods to enhance manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers; share knowledge and lessons learned. Contribute to positive teamwork environment.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety and environmental incidents to supervisor.
