Job Purpose To direct, control and co-ordinate the execution of projects, under the leadership of the Project Management, involving the required equipment, engineering and services to achieve project completion on time, within budget and at the required levels of quality taking into account safety and reliability. To assist the Project Management in providing project input in the areas of scope definition and preparation of engineering dat. Key Accountabilities Being the overall project lead for the engineering and construction work performed by the assigned Contractor. This will generally involve: Monitor Projects • Prepare, coordinate, and monitor a project, from the initial conception to the schedule and final completion, involved with the planning and forecasting of budgets and timelines to assure that the project is accurately completed to schedule. • Coordinate with the Project Planner all planning activities. • Assist in producing the project budget in the initial phase of the project start-up. • Coordinate with The Supply Chain the materials PO’s as well as the delivery schedule of the material and equipment. • Coordinate all required internal approval needed to support the time schedule of the project. • Assist in the preparation of the FAT needed for the project with the interested parties/ department as well as the client representative. • Assist the Project Manager in handling the construction conflicts to achieve the construction milestone. • Manage all expenditures at the site in accordance with Company and Project Procedures and Delegation of Authority. • Deputies for the Project Manager when the Project Manager is not available. • Prepare regular progress reports as required by the Project Management. • Linking the office Project Engineering design role with the field construction activities • Solving technical problems and ensuring the resolution of Technical Queries in a timely manner • Manage the site assets and maintain the associated Asset Register. Assign Responsibilities • Assign tasks and responsibilities to members of the team so that everything is completed on time. This involves mentoring the project team and managing its performance. • Represent the Company in meetings with the Client, interfacing EPC, subcontractors and other stakeholders. Lead meetings and record minutes of meetings as required. Qualification & Education: Education: Bachelor Engineering Degree (preferable electrical) Courses from any approved institute will be considered as advantage. Years of Experience: At least 5 - 7 years relevant experience in a project role such as project engineering, management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary including electrical substation and 4 years of which should be construction site based. Language: English language writing and reading is a must Computer skills: Computer knowledge is a must
