THE ROLE

Join our Gas Networks & Services Team as a Senior Project Engineer based in our Derrimut office . As a vital member of our Capital Works Team , you will report to the Operations Manager and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of key gas projects and tenders. Your role will be essential in ensuring that projects are completed within stakeholder parameters of Zero Harm, cost, time, and quality, aligning with our business objectives.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage projects & tenders from conception to completion, including developing and implementing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution and provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Conduct risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain a productive workforce in compliance with Downer Zero Harm guidelines.
• Prepare and present project reports, documentation, and progress updates to senior management.

You’re a technically minded project professional who thrives in complex environments and brings a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset. With a strong foundation in engineering and proven project delivery experience, you’re ready to step into a leadership role supporting the next generation of gas infrastructure.

• Ideally, you should have a tertiary engineering qualification or similar, a current driver’s licence and a proven track record as a project engineer , preferably with experience in gas or civil projects .
• Knowledge of Gas Distribution Networks and pressure regulation facilities preferred
