ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our iconic Waterfront project in the Brisbane CBD. The primary purpose of the role is to plan, organise and direct project engineering team to deliver the project to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE

Demonstrating commitment to SH&E through, personal example, leadership and participation in monitoring of established working practices.
Monitoring SH&E performance within area of responsibility and compliance to our GMR’s
Preparing work packages, documentation, and quality requirements for tender by potential subcontractors with the Commercial team
Managing the Subcontractor/ supplier shop drawing process and contribute to the review process and ensure reviews are planned and undertaken well in advance of works starting on site.
Manage all works to ensure that the project Quality Assurance requirements through process and procedures are being complied with.
Assist with the Subcontractor onboarding process including. Safety documentation, programs reviews and agreement, arrange and chair subcontractor onboarding meetings (invite other disciplines). in advance of works commencing on site
Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and Planning Engineers
Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
Ensure that project engineering accountabilities are delivered on time and within budget
Prepare and maintain short range and long-range programs and record planned v actual to ensure works are on track with Project Goals
Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with JH’s authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin.
Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontract agreements.
Lead and contribute to planning future requirements/ methodologies including,
Liaise with client representatives, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of planned construction work.
