QUALIFICATIONS:



    • A Professional Engineer (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil) or equivalent professional status and registered with APEGA;

    • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant engineering/project management experience, including facilities and supporting infrastructure design, cost estimating, schedule development, and technical writing;
    • Thorough knowledge and working experience with relevant codes, regulatory bodies, and requirements to complete pipeline projects in Alberta and British Columbia;
    • Technical aptitude for large and small diameter liquids pipelines and pump stations, hydraulics, pumps, tanks, piping, metering, meter proving, pigging, integrity and corrosion management, control, instrumentation, electrical wiring, and SCADA;
    • Experience with pipeline and pipeline facility construction techniques and practices, and required equipment, materials, contractors and services;
    • Experience with pipeline project execution and consultant coordination;
    • Formal project management training would be considered an asset;
    • Field experience including pipeline and facility construction, and facility operations is an asset;
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as presentation skills with the ability to influence effectively;
    • Strong attention to detail and a self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset;
    • Driven, results-oriented individual who naturally takes responsibility for setting the standard and achieving results within a continuously changing environment;
    • An analytical and problem-solving mindset with strong business insight and an understanding of how to recognize opportunities for value creation; and
    • Based in our Calgary Office, you may be required to travel periodically to various project sites as needed.

      • The position is focused on working within an integrated team responsible for advancing development opportunities from initial concept through to FEED phases and delivering execution-ready projects to the Project Engineering team;
      • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to develop cost-effective proposals and solutions, ensuring all regulatory, land, Indigenous, and environmental requirements are met;
      • Supporting multiple Project Managers in their day-to-day work;
      • Working closely with the Operations, Operations Engineering, and Field Engineering teams in the scoping of projects to optimize existing asset value and efficiency to producers;
      • Develop, recommend, and manage capital value-creation studies and projects. Identify new opportunities, screen viable options, generate high level estimates and schedules, identify and assess risks, provide concept selection, and design recommendations;
      • Identify opportunities and create solutions and systems for ongoing maintenance, optimization, and technical challenges of the Business Unit;
      • Liaise with Operations staff to provide information and technical analysis;
      • Execute construction projects to expand and modify Pembina’s existing pipeline systems, which will include the full scope of project management such as creating project proposals, preparing estimates and AFE packages, coordinating construction, reporting, and maintaining records and files;
      • Prepare designs, plans, drawings, bids, and contracts, as well as identify and requisition materials and services;
      • Overseeing multiple project scopes will include the supervision of third-party engineering firms, construction specialists, and coordination of project delivery through the respective Stage Gates of Pembina’s Governance Lifecycle;
      • Regularly travel to field locations throughout Alberta to scope, direct construction of, and commission work;
      • Ensure that projects satisfy all safety, technical, operational, commercial, maintenance, and quality requirements as defined in our specifications, standards, and practices; and
      • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
