Location: IKM Testing UK (Aberdeen)
IKM Testing in Aberdeen are recruiting an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Pipeline Operations Team.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • Basic Secondary Education
  • Preferred:
  • Degree or HND/C

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Strong technical background in relation to all pipeline / process operational activities.
  • Experience of working in a client facing role.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Able to produce detailed procedures for pipeline pre-commissioning / decommissioning related work.
  • Ability to work well in a team whilst also independently using own initiative.
  • Computer literacy / competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience of working in a project environment..
  • Offshore experience.
  • Familiar with the varied type of equipment used to execute projects.
  • Strong business acumen, experience in budget ownership, profit and loss, and financial reporting.
  • Strong quality focus is a must and able to prioritise tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Relevant computer design skills in both 2D and basic 3D drawing packages.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the PL (Project Lead) on allocated project/s.
  • Preparation of detailed project documentation and relevant reports.
  • Reviewing of project documentation and relevant reports.
  • Preparation of detailed project equipment lists to ensure operational performance is met.
  • Liaise with the workshop on project equipment requirements.
  • Respond to any client queries in a correct and timely manner.
  • Prepare and update tender / project CTR’s.
  • Responsible for the health and safety of all personnel working on assigned projects.
  • Act as operational focal point for clients and internal stakeholders for all assigned projects.
  • Identify all operational requirements contained within project contracts, verify that all actions are performed in accordance with the contract and written procedures and that deadlines are met.
  • Plan and monitor progress against schedule, milestones and contract.
  • Act as Project Contract Manager (PCM) where required for smaller scale projects.
  • Work closely with nominated Project Contract Manager (when not acting as PCM) to ensure contracts are managed effectively, and variation orders are identified, prepared and agreed with the client.
  • Work with the Controls team to ensure billing sheets and invoices are correct.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets continuously monitoring profits or losses.
  • Mentor junior members of staff.
  • Offer guidance and support to project team members as required.
  • Work with the Operations Manager / Project Managers to ensure that project resources are allocated to perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Work alongside the support teams to ensure that equipment and personnel are mobilised and demobilised on time, and in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Required to work onsite and offshore overseeing project activities.
  • Required to travel to client meetings, site visits, safety inspections.
  • Work with Business Development in the identification and development of potential clients.
  • Required to prepare, or assist in the development of, proposals including, but not limited to, technical assistance, equipment and personnel resources, etc.
  • Participate in the on-call rota.
  • Carry out your duties and responsibilities in accordance with any and all company policies, protocols, procedures, risk assessments and systems (including emergency and incident routines) as well as specific site assignment instruction/requirements.
  • Travel where required.
  • Represent IKM’s best interests at all times.
