SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER (BMS) – LISBURN – SALARY DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE

Silverwood Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading Consultancy as they seek to employ an experienced Senior Building Management Systems Project Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the design, implementation, commissioning, and delivery of Building Management Systems (BMS) projects. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful and timely execution of projects within budget and quality standards.

THE SUCCESSFUL SENIOR BMS PROJECT ENGINEER WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Good experience Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in BMS project engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in BMS software platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Schneider EcoStruxure KNX).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control theory, and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of networking, communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage BMS projects from inception to completion, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Design and develop control systems and schematics for HVAC, lighting, and other building automation systems.
  • Prepare technical submittals, equipment schedules, and wiring diagrams.
  • Configure, program, and test BMS software and hardware including controllers, sensors, and user interfaces (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, etc).
  • Lead onsite installation and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to gather requirements and provide technical support.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to assess project needs and progress.
  • Generate project documentation, including O&M manuals, test procedures, and commissioning reports.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide training to end-users and facility teams.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within defined scope, quality, and cost.
