REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of hands-on estimating experience in the construction industry
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong cost management, budgeting, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work closely with both clients and internal teams
  • Proficient in PlanSwift or Bluebeam or similar industry software
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Degree/diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Our client is a respected construction company with over 40 years of experience, specializing in concrete flooring products and services. Known across Ontario for delivering durable and innovative solutions, they’ve built a strong reputation for quality and reliability. Their Cambridge-based team is collaborative, supportive, and dedicated to excellence on every project.
They are currently seeking a Senior Project Estimator to join their team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in the bidding and estimating process, working closely with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of estimating experience, strong technical expertise, and the confidence to manage multiple projects at once.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Cambridge. The role also requires weekly visits to job sites across the territory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and quotations for multiple construction projects weekly
  • Conduct site surveys and liaise with clients, vendors, and project managers once a week
  • Analyze drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to prepare accurate take-offs
  • Use PlanSwift and Excel to develop estimates
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and cost controls throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure projects are scoped and priced effectively
