Kardex AutoStore is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex automation and intralogistics projects. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation delivering world-class automated warehouse solutions throughout the APAC region. The Senior Project Manager assumes full commercial, technical and contractual ownership of AutoStore projects from handover by Sales through final customer acceptance and transition into the Life Cycle Services organisation. The role is accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget and to agreed quality standards while maintaining customer satisfaction and achieving project profitability. Your tasks As a senior member of the Project Delivery organisation, the role provides leadership across the project management function by mentoring project managers, promoting project delivery best practices, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing technical and commercial expertise during the sales and tender phases. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, commercial acumen, technical understanding of integrated automation systems, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams across hardware, software, controls and customer IT environments. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Commercial Management Assume full ownership of assigned customer contracts with comprehensive understanding of contractual obligations, scope, commercial commitments and project objectives. Lead the successful delivery of large and complex AutoStore projects from project initiation through final acceptance and handover. Develop and manage detailed project execution plans including schedule, resources, procurement, commissioning activities, budget, cash flow and financial forecasting. Maintain accountability for project financial performance including cost control, forecasting, revenue recognition, margin protection and profitability. Identify commercial opportunities and contractual risks while implementing mitigation strategies throughout project execution. Manage variations, claims and change requests including commercial impact assessments and customer negotiations. Technical Project Leadership Coordinate complex system integration activities across mechanical, electrical, software, controls and customer IT systems. Lead resolution of technical, commercial and operational challenges throughout project execution. Drive effective risk management by proactively identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with contractual, technical, safety and quality requirements. Stakeholder & Customer Management Serve as the primary customer interface throughout project delivery. Build and maintain strong working relationships with customer leadership, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. Lead project governance meetings and provide regular reporting to customers and senior management on schedule, commercial performance, risks and key project KPIs. Lead negotiations with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes. Sales & Pre-Sales Support Support the Sales organisation during bid and proposal activities as a subject matter expert. Review customer specifications, technical documentation and contractual requirements. Develop high-level project execution strategies, project schedules, cost estimates and delivery plans for new opportunities. Identify delivery risks during tender stages and provide recommendations to improve project execution and commercial outcomes. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Provide mentoring, coaching and guidance to Project Managers and project teams. Promote project management best practices, governance standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Support development and maintenance of project templates, delivery methodologies and project execution processes. Contribute to the ongoing development of a high-performing Project Delivery organisation. Transition to Service Lead the structured transition of completed projects to the Life Cycle Services team. Collaborate closely with Customer Service and customers to ensure successful operational handover, documentation completion and long-term customer satisfaction. Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Project Management or related discipline. Formal Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is highly desirable. Experience Typically 8–10+ years of project management experience delivering complex technical or automation projects. Minimum 5 years' experience delivering projects within the intralogistics, warehouse automation or material handling industry preferred. Proven experience managing large-scale customer projects involving multiple technical disciplines. Demonstrated experience managing significant project budgets, forecasting and commercial performance. Strong understanding of integrated automation systems including mechanical, electrical, software and IT interfaces. Proven experience managing contractual obligations, project risk and customer relationships. Skills & Competencies Advanced project management capability. Strong commercial and financial acumen.
