Job Details Job Location: Dallas - Dallas, TX 75207 Education Level: 4 Year Degree Responsibilities As a fully competent Registered Professional Engineer, performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of civil engineering to the functional area of the assignment. Fully responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering projects which have unique or controversial problems and an important effect on major company programs. Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a number of large and important projects or a project of major scope and importance. May supervise civil engineering and support personnel: evaluate performance; assign and schedule work; establish project priorities and standards; make recommendations on hiring, firing and promotions; and provide technical support of project work. Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Responsible for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas. Includes technical direction over a group of civil engineers and/or functions as a technical specialist, formulating and developing advanced civil engineering concepts. Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Coordinates technical and administrative activities with those of other disciplines and other departments in the company participating in a project. Markets the firm’s capabilities within the civil engineering specialty to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients. Prepares proposals for potential projects. Participates in the selection of design teams and sub-consultants and in the negotiations of fees and subcontractors. Conducts constructability reviews or assists in the design/planning/review of other civil engineering projects not assigned to the incumbent. Supervises the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies. May assist the Department/Division Manager in the preparation of the department/division budget and policy implementation. Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams. Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Participates in contract bidding and administration; observes project action on site. Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project. May be required to complete safety training courses relative to engineering project environments (i.e. fall protection, confined space entry, CPR/first aid, electrical safety, personal protective equipment, OSHA safety, or hazard communication). Travel may be required to attend meetings, project sites, or other business-related functions as part of your job duties. When a company vehicle is unavailable, your personal vehicle shall be utilized. Performs other duties assigned by the Team Leader, Engineering Department Manager, or the Partners of the firm. Qualifications Education Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer. Experience Minimum of seven years of progressive work experience within the civil engineering field.
