Job Purpose We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the full implementation of a critical event management system. This role is responsible for managing the project from initiation through deployment, integration, and post-go-live support. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with system deployments and will oversee defining project scope, managing schedules, allocating resources, controlling budgets, and mitigating risks. Success in this role requires strong collaboration with IT, security, communications, and emergency management teams, as well as serving as the main point of contact with external vendors to ensure all technical, regulatory, and operational objectives are met on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Project Oversight: Lead the entire project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with external vendors and internal stakeholders, managing communications, deliverables, and escalations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with IT, cybersecurity, security, communications, and emergency management teams to define project goals, timelines, and critical deliverables. Planning & Monitoring: Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering schedules, resource allocation, budgets, forecasts, and risk management strategies. System Configuration & Integration: Oversee system setup, integration with existing enterprise systems (e.g., HR platforms, Active Directory, mapping tools), and essential data migration activities. User Testing & Change Management: Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), design and deliver training programs, and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth system adoption. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure implementation complies with data privacy, emergency preparedness, and communication standards. Provide regular status updates, dashboards, and executive reports. Issue Management: Proactively identify, track, and resolve project issues while mitigating potential risks. Required Skills & Experience System Expertise: Proven hands-on experience leading critical event management or similar platform implementations. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, IT, Emergency Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Certification: Active PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive project management experience, delivering complex technology or emergency systems projects on time and within budget. Methodologies: Strong knowledge of project management approaches such as PMI, Agile, and Waterfall. Core Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities. Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate with external vendors effectively. Preferred: Experience in emergency communications, business continuity, or public safety environments, ideally in transportation or government sectors.
