Description GENERAL POSTION SUMMARY As a Project Manager/Estimator in the Demolition Division, you are responsible for the successful planning and execution of demolition projects from start to finish, as well as the accurate estimation of costs. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of both project management and estimation, specifically tailored to the demolition industry. You are expected to have a thorough knowledge of demolition techniques, safety regulations, and environmental considerations, ensuring all projects are executed to comply with our company's high standards and operational protocols. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Estimator • Develop and refine cost estimates for demolition projects, considering project specifications, materials, labor, and other pertinent details. • Handle project documentation such as contracts, change orders, and progress updates, maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accurate project estimates. • Use estimating software to price materials and labor based on detailed project plans and specifications. • Perform site visits to assess project requirements and participate in pre-bid reviews to confirm estimate accuracy. • Aim to maintain a competitive bid win ratio by securing the targeted volume of work as established by the Senior Project Manager/Estimator. Project Manager • Directly manage demolition projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to set timelines, budget constraints, quality standards, and regulatory compliance. • Work closely with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project specifications, resolve challenges, and ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations. • Develop and oversee project schedules, coordinating activities and resources to achieve timely project completions. • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, enforce safety and quality standards, and proactively identify and address potential risks. • Manage subcontractor activities within the division, ensuring they align with project specifications and timelines. • Control project financials, including budget monitoring and cost containment, to keep projects within financial boundaries. • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams about project status, focusing on the specifics of demolition projects. Requirements REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications. • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Effective communication and presentation skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. • A strong understanding and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs. • High level of awareness, enabling them to proactively anticipate, adapt to, and address complex and dynamic challenges. EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered. • Proven experience as a Project Manager/Estimator in the construction or environmental industry, with a strong track record of successful project delivery and cost estimation. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating and Project Management. • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods and industry regulations.
