Are you a strategic thinker who loves bringing structure to complexity and guiding teams toward meaningful, measurable outcomes? In this role, you’ll lead multiple large, high priority projects and programs that directly support organizational goals across departments, portfolios, and lines of business. You’ll set the vision, align stakeholders, and ensure every project delivers the value and ROI it was designed for—while developing future leaders along the way. This is a hybrid position. You will be required to travel to the office 2-3 days a week. What You’ll Do • Drive strategic alignment by ensuring projects ladder up to the goals of programs, portfolios, departments, and business lines. • Lead multiple high priority initiatives, providing clarity, direction, and purpose so teams always know what success looks like. • Define project value, goals, and ROI, partnering with business owners to establish the right success metrics. • Build and maintain detailed project plans and reporting, ensuring transparency, consistency, and accountability. • Support and empower project teams, helping remove roadblocks, escalating issues thoughtfully, and facilitating strong decision-making. • Mentor and develop future leaders, offering guidance, training, and coaching to strengthen the project management community. • Deliver complex initiatives that create significant business value and measurable ROI. • Ensure accuracy and quality through strong business cases, process reviews, and thorough testing validation. • Create and monitor key metrics to track performance, progress, and organizational impact. • Identify trends and process improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies across projects and operations. • Collaborate with managers and leaders across the organization to integrate work, streamline operations, and create cross-functional value. • Apply best-in-class methodologies (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to accelerate delivery and maximize outcomes. • Lead effective change management, ensuring teams adopt new processes and ways of working successfully. • Provide concise and timely updates to stakeholders and leadership. • Model and uphold UPMC’s core values in every action and interaction. • Contribute to Operations’ strategic goals, helping advance both divisional and system-wide priorities. Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related business field required.Minimum of six years of related work experience in project management in a multi-faceted user environment directly managing multiple projects required.Master's degree preferred.Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required. Excellent Project Management skills.Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent software applications.Ability to manages multiple complex projects and develops solutions that align with the business strategic business needs.Ability to perform planning for multiple and/or large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to provide services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines. Ability to effectively manage project business value, scope, time, cost, quality, people, communication, risk, procurement & vendors, and stakeholders. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: PMI's PMP? Certification required or completion of UPMC Health Plan PM Certification within one year from date of hire.Six Sigma Certification preferred.
