JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia .

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven record delivering complex software and system projects
  • Significant commercial experience (5+ years) working in complex, multi-discipline engineering and software projects including phases of requirements, procurement, software development, integration, commissioning (ideally within the rail industry).
  • A degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Training in PMP, Prince 2 or similar Project Management methodology.
  • Initiative-taking, with excellent leadership, organisational, communication and people skills.
  • Agile mindset, able to take prompt decisions in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to work and lead in a multicultural environment.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience in the following areas of project management: Customer management, scheduling, planning, critical path analysis, change management, risk management, cost estimation.

Responsibilities
  • Project Manage the delivery of the Traffic Management System (TMS), accountability for Scope, Time, Cost, Risk, Quality and Change Control.
  • Manage and coordinate the system requirements and functions, software development, testing & commissioning and verification & validation deliverables on the project.
  • Manage and coordinate the engagement of End Users to ensure the resolution of user acceptance issues.
  • Facilitate the integrated Assurance process in accordance with the Integrated and Progressive Assurance Strategies.
  • Facilitate the Transition to Operations process in accordance with the Integration Strategies.
  • Supervising the production of the project plans and schedules.
  • Coordinating project reporting in compliance with the Alliance and Internal requirements.
  • Contract Administration.
  • Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits.
  • Attending/chairing Project meetings and arrange the preparation of progress reports, performance reviews and commercial reports.
  • Ensuring all activities undertaken are conducted with due regard to a high-level of continuous improvement.
