Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with an innovative organisation that delivers complex energy and engineering solutions across major infrastructure projects, utility networks, and critical customer systems. They are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of high voltage infrastructure projects (11kV-132kV) and take the lead from design handover through to delivery, coordinating internal teams and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and on-budget completion.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • HNC or HND in Electrical or related Engineering discipline
  • Project management experience within the electrical/utilities sector, ideally on 11kV-33kV networks
  • Knowledge of ICP connections and HV systems up to 132kV
  • Understanding of contracts and commercial management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • SAP authorisation or experience working to SAP level

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER ROLE

Reporting to the Hiring Manager you will:

  • Lead delivery teams and specialist subcontractors across all project phases.
  • Oversee resource planning, procurement, and subcontractor performance.
  • Develop and manage budgets, target costs, and project schedules.
  • Prepare and present monthly progress updates to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSQE standards and promote a strong safety-first culture.
  • Manage site-based activities, including inspections and witnessing during commissioning.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, technical teams, and commercial leads.
  • Ensure employer requirements and key programme milestones are met.
  • Approve project scope and drive delivery performance across all areas.
  • Conduct and review RAMS, ensuring buildable, efficient solutions are in place.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service through effective stakeholder communication.
