ICON MECHANICAL OPPORTUNITY: SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

icon Mechanical is seeking qualified professionals to join our Project Management team. We are a full-service mechanical contractor, engineering and construction firm specializing in the design, fabrication, installation, modification, and ongoing service of process piping, industrial ventilation and commercial HVAC. With offices in Granite City, IL, St. Louis, MO and Nashville, TN, icon has a diverse portfolio of clients extending across 42 states, and internationally in Mexico and St. Croix. Our team designs projects to be built for market sectors which include healthcare, commercial, industrial and institutional.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Project Management department at our office in Nashville, TN. Our ideal candidate for the position of Senior Project Manager will be someone who has 5 + years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager or in a similar role. They will be personable, high energy, and will bring a strong sense of leadership, direction, and commitment to our projects.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS FOR ICON’S SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER INCLUDE:

  • 5 + years of experience as a Project Manager in Mechanical Construction (HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing is a plus) is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or proven experience in the Mechanical industry is required.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages (Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, BlueBeam, P6 is preferred, Viewpoint is preferred, and Autodesk is a plus) – overall strong computer skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills.
  • Possesses a strong personal commitment for long-term and meaningful goals.
  • Demonstrates confidence in their knowledge and is committed to researching the answers to find the right solutions for things they do not know.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading complex mechanical projects involving HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical pipe systems from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients.
  • Ensuring site safety compliance and requirements are executed – including, but not limited to, site specific safety plans, audits, pick plans, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning.
  • Coordinating with Design and Engineering Team to develop permit drawings, update progress drawings, generate record drawings, and establish overall build plan for project scope.
  • Ensuring that the plans, specifications, and details of the project, and materials have been delivered and are being installed based on the approved submittals and RFIs.
  • Managing and providing coaching to develop other Project Managers on the team.
  • Coordinating subcontractors through defining their scope of work, preparing, and issuing contracts, managing changes, and planning their schedule.
  • Developing advanced project schedules for all contracted scopes.
  • Managing the financial budget and forecasting of the project from start to finish.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients (Owners, General Contractors, Vendors and Subcontractors).
  • Communicating effectively with field personnel, fabrication shops, warehouse managers, Safety, and Service teams.
