The Opportunity: We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Senior Project Managers to lead a highly significant and complex construction project within Australia's premier academic sector. This project represents a landmark opportunity due to the building's exceptional heritage status, architectural significance, and the scale of transformation required. Project Characteristics Scale & Complexity: Major upgrade involving extensive refurbishment and modernization Heritage Significance: Working within strict conservation requirements and statutory regulations Stakeholder Environment: Multiple high-profile stakeholders requiring exceptional communication and coordination Industry Recognition Potential: Project expected to set new benchmarks for heritage construction management Strategic Importance: Critical infrastructure project with long-term institutional impact Role Expectations The successful candidate will demonstrate total responsibility for effective management across all project phases from initial establishment through to handover and closure. You will: Control planning, organizing, programming and rollout of this major upgrade project Manage complex stakeholder relationships and regulatory compliance requirements Lead contract negotiations, value engineering, and buildability analysis Ensure delivery of monthly project deliverables including Project Delivery Plans, Status Reports, and Anticipated Cost Reports Establish detailed project programmes with clear milestones and risk registers Manage RFP preparation, scope writing, and tendering processes Requirement to work from site 3 days per week as a minimum Required Qualifications Degree in relevant Project or Construction Management discipline with ten (10) years experience, or combination of formal education and experience exceeding twelve (12) years Seven years minimum experience in Design, Construction, or Project Management Proven experience with heritage construction projects and regulatory compliance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and cost reporting systems Understanding of ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001 compliance requirements What This Opportunity Offers This role presents the chance to lead a career-defining project that will enhance your professional standing within the industry.
