Description
Most civil contractors grow by adding equipment. This one grew by building the right team — and holding them to a standard that has turned a hometown contractor into Central Florida's most trusted heavy civil firm. They self-perform large-scale site development, underground utilities, land clearing, drainage, grading, and roadway construction across a 70-mile radius, with 25 dedicated pipe crews in the field and a project portfolio that includes contracts north of $50 million. They've built their reputation on doing the job right, keeping clients informed, and delivering on time — every time. They're now looking for a Senior Project Manager who can lead a project management team, own a book of complex civil work from award through closeout, and help sustain the growth they've built without sacrificing the quality that got them here. What You'll Own Oversee multiple concurrent site development and heavy civil construction projects from contract award through final completion — earthwork, underground utilities, roadway infrastructure, and site development scopes Coordinate with the estimating department as projects are awarded, assigning work to Project Managers based on capacity and complexity Review, negotiate, and approve contracts prior to execution — ensuring terms are aligned with company risk tolerance and project requirements Review and approve project buyouts prior to issuance of purchase orders and subcontracts Serve as the primary liaison between clients, engineers, governing authorities, and internal project teams — owning the relationship and the outcome Provide the leadership, direction, and training necessary to develop the project management team and sustain the company's growth trajectory Identify and resolve problematic situations quickly, making chain-of-command decisions that protect project outcomes and company interests Maintain accurate, real-time knowledge of all active and upcoming projects — including risks, schedule status, and client dynamics Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and key suppliers and vendors 5+ years of experience at the Project Manager level or above with a heavy civil contractor — earthwork, utility installation, and roadway infrastructure experience required A demonstrated track record managing complex, multi-million dollar civil scopes from award through closeout with full accountability for schedule, budget, and client satisfaction Experience leading and developing a project management team — you know how to set the standard, delegate with confidence, and develop the people around you B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred Proficiency with industry-standard platforms including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, HCSS, AGTEK, Bluebeam, and Foundation Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — you're equally effective in a client meeting and a field coordination call Highly organized, proactive, and decisive — someone who sees problems before they surface and acts before they escalate Central Florida market familiarity a meaningful advantage Competitive base compensation commensurate with experience Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) package plus paid company holidays Medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance with employer contributions 401(k) with employer match Long-term incentives A stable, growing company with a deep pipeline of work and a culture that invests in the people who show up and perform
