POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Project Manager Product Development is responsible for leading formulation and product development efforts for dietary supplements across a range of delivery formats, including tablets, capsules, powders, soft gels, liquids, and gummies. This role manages the end-to-end development process from concept generation through commercialization, including scale-up and validation at manufacturing sites.
This position requires demonstrated project management experience and proven technical expertise in formulation science, sensory evaluation, and process development. The ideal candidate brings a collaborative mindset, a high level of scientific rigor, and demonstrates experience in both innovation and execution within the dietary supplement industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and oversee Development Plans for all projects placed with external manufacturing partners
- Acts as lead Project Manager for product development projects placed with external manufacturing partners
- Lead dietary supplement formulation activities for new product launches in multiple formats with a special focus on tablets, soft gels, liquids, and gummies
- Lead product development from discovery to launch covering activities ranging from technology scouting, concept creation and prototyping and all the way to process validation at production scale
- Develop new and optimize existing nutritional supplement formulations that meet market demands and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Nutritional Sciences, Marketing, Manufacturing and Operations to ensure successful product development and launch
- Ensures new products align with regulatory requirements and company ingredient guidelines for dietary supplements
- Design, implement, and maintain a process for sensory evaluation of prototypes for in-house and external projects

Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced degree (master’s or Ph.D.) in food science, food engineering, pharmaceutical science, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 3 years (MS) or 1 year (Ph.D.) of formulation experience in dietary supplement development
- Hands-on project management experience is a must. Demonstrated track record of managing projects from ideation to launch
- Demonstrated technical expertise in product development of dietary supplements with attention to sensory aspects of the product experience (taste, texture, and aesthetics)
- Hands-on experience in the development of multiple applicable dosage formats, e.g. powders, soft gels, beverages, capsules, tablets, gummies
- Experience partnering with flavor houses and consumer product research agencies
- Experience in scale-up and validation from benchtop to pilot to production
- Familiarity with typical analytical chemistry and stability approaches for dietary supplements
