Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role  Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager to join the Digital Transformation team within Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions on a fixed-term, full-time contract until 17 December 2027. This role offers flexibility, with hybrid working arrangements available. As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of the University’s Data, Reporting & Analytics project, which is a major project within the University’s Digital Roadmap. Key responsibilities: * Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of the Data, Reporting & Analytics project. * Ensure milestones, scope, schedule, and benefits are effectively managed and reported. * Work with the project sponsor and owner to define & embed data governance practices, including data ownership, stewardship, quality standards, and common definitions. * Manage delivery partners and vendors, ensuring contractual obligations, timelines, and quality standards are met. * Manage project budgets, forecasting, and expenditure, ensuring delivery remains within approved funding. * Partner with senior leaders, faculties, and professional services to understand reporting and analytics needs and translate them into actionable delivery priorities. * Ensure stakeholders are identified and appropriately informed about the project. Ō pūmanawa - About you You will be a proactive and experienced data architect with strong data modelling skills and a passion for enabling successful project delivery. You thrive in a dynamic environment and can build strong relationships across business and IT. Key requirements: * Experience delivering data, reporting, analytics, or information platform initiatives. * Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and the challenges of delivering trusted institutional data. * Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups to translate business needs into delivery. * Proven experience managing vendors and delivery partners, including commercial and performance management. * Strong capability in budget management, forecasting, and financial reporting for large programmes or projects. * Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. * Experience working in complex, multi-system environments.
