WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU?

To succeed in this role, we’re looking for individuals who bring a blend of relevant skills, knowledge, and experience across key areas such as project and programme management, technical understanding, and hands-on delivery.

  • You will have a proven background and breadth of experience in a project management role in the development and delivery of Rail, Light Rail, Highways Infrastructure or Change Management projects/ programmes of significant complexity & value.
  • You will have demonstrable experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams, including consultants, Local Authorities and contractors, with good problem solving and negotiation skills to meet funding and schedule targets.
  • You’ll be confident and have experience of building effective relationships and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including political, professional, and public audiences.
  • You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to explain technical transport solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical teams.
  • You will have contract management delivery experience, utilising the NEC 3/4 contract framework and working knowledge of duties under the CDM 2015 Regulations.

In addition to the above essential criteria, we are looking for candidates who possess specific industry experience and/ or technical skills and knowledge that is specific to each of our Programme areas (as outlined below).

Rail /Light Rail Capital Programme

  • You will have experience and knowledge of the Rail Industry Delivery processes (such as PACE).

Highways Infrastructure

  • You will have experience and knowledge of planning and delivering highway infrastructure projects on the public highway, using industry standard processes (such as RIBA stages), particularly bus and active travel experience. You will have knowledge of national transportation strategies and understand how objectives within these strategies shape the design development process.

Rail Integration & Reform Programme (RIRP)

  • You will have experience of planning and delivering complex large change programmes, ideally within a transport or public sector environment.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Over the next few months, we will have several exciting opportunities coming up working across a range of impactful programme areas. Our Senior Project Managers will play a pivotal part in helping us ensure and maintain successful project and programme delivery.

As part of this role, you will work closely with our Projects and Programme Managers, key stakeholders and industry partners, focussing on key activities including:

  • Lead the development and delivery of complex multi-disciplinary Rail, Light Rail and Highway Infrastructure projects to time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Leading, supporting and guiding multi-disciplinary project teams and industry stakeholders to meet committed milestones, budgets and ensure successful delivery of project outcomes, vision and deliverables.
  • Managing contracts and contractors (utilising NEC 3 & 4 contracts), building strong and collaborative working relationships with the supply chain and ensuring compliance to CDM 2015 Regulations as the client representative
  • Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with Rail and Highway Infrastructure industry partners, key stakeholders and internal departments to secure the support and approvals needed for successful project delivery.
