About the role
Position: Senior Project Manager – Wind
Location: Adelaide or Red Hill region, South Australia
Term: Three-year Fixed Term Contract
AGL is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to deliver our landmark $1.5 billion greenfield wind energy project. This three-year fixed term role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of renewable energy in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of project execution, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder and community engagement.
Key Purpose of the Role
The Senior Project Manager will support the development and management of wind projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Responsibilities include contract management, stakeholder coordination, compliance with industry standards, and project execution. The role also involves safety leadership, risk mitigation, interface management, contractor oversight, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the delivery of a $1.5 billion greenfield wind project shaping Australia’s renewable future.
  • Champion safety excellence and foster a collaborative, high-performing project culture.
  • Oversee end-to-end project management—design, construction, commissioning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Drive commercial success through robust contract management, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
  • Build lasting relationships with communities, landowners and other key stakeholders, securing AGL’s leadership in clean energy.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Skills

  • Demonstrated a high standard of safety performance.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in best practice methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with superior influencing capabilities.
  • Extensive risk management and contract negotiation experience.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in either engineering, project management or similar disciplines.

Experience

  • Experience delivering complex projects in the renewable energy sector (preferably wind).
  • Having managed large-scale energy projects, including EPC contract model construction.
  • Excellent assurance capabilities ensuring adherence to project management frameworks.
  • Experience managing construction contractors and industrialised workforces.
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders including regulators and government agencies.
  • Accountability for delivering projects exceeding $500 million.
  • Experience in stakeholder and community engagement, particularly with landholders and EPC contractors.
