Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is seeking a Senior Project Officer to lead projects that help us meet the NSW Government’s legislated emissions reduction targets under the Climate Change (Net Zero Future) Act 2025.
In this role, you will manage and coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects that drive environmental sustainability across the AHO. You will play a pivotal part in embedding climate action within our operations, raising awareness of climate impacts and commitments, and supporting staff and stakeholders to adopt sustainable practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Review and analyse sustainability policies and legislation to identify trends and inform AHO’s approach.
  • Develop evidence-based policies, processes and procedures in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Prepare briefings, reports and updates on sustainability initiatives and progress.
  • Lead and manage projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget and to quality standards.
  • Monitor project risks, benefits and outcomes, and support continuous improvement.
  • Conduct research to support planning, benchmarking and decision making.
  • Assist and support staff to adopt environmental sustainability practices.
  • Support organisational governance, feedback processes, project evaluation mechanisms and organisational reporting aimed at supporting the NSW Government’s net zero commitments.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THIS ROLE. WE LOOK FORWARD TO RECEIVING YOUR APPLICATION.
