The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Project Officer, Strategic Projects to provide a critical role within Custodial Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications/s or experience in project management, change management, public policy, service delivery or other relevant discipline would be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in the public sector, preferably in justice and/or community service-related environment would be highly regarded.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Full time, fixed term position up to 18 months.
VPS Grade 5 role: $109,730 - $132,764 per year plus superannuation.
This role reports to the Senior Project Manager of the CV Strategic Projects team and is a key contributor to a small team primarily focussed on implementing operational change, preparing our people for change and ensuring successful project outcomes.
The Senior Project Officer provides advice and project management to support implementation of changes to prison operational models. Working with central business units, prisons, and stakeholders, the role will work across a range of activities to ensure project deliverables and timelines are aligned and reflect organisational objectives.

As the Senior Projects Officer, Strategic Projects, some of your duties will include:

  • Co-ordinating and supporting project management activities, including project planning, identification, and management of risks, and ensure that project deliverables align with work program and project objectives.
  • Providing high-quality, authoritative and strategic advice to the General Manager and Senior Project Manager, Strategic Projects on complex and sensitive issues.
  • Identifying emerging issues that may impact project implementation and developing creative, innovative, and practical solutions and recommendations to ensure continued effective project delivery.

  • Experience in Corrections Victoria operations and administrative processes, including knowledge of policies, procedures and priorities.
