ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.

The key accountabilities for the Senior Project Officer are to:

  • review applications for funding allocation to ensure they align with program guidelines
  • work collaboratively across the VSBA and broader Department to manage information and processes across the portfolio, acting as a key point of contact for multiple teams and stakeholders in the delivery of the program
  • contributing to continuous improvements for delivery through automation and process improvement, including new ways of working
  • assisting the manager in supervising junior staff members in the delivery of the progra
Responsibilities

The Senior Project Advisor role in the Planned Maintenance Allocations Unit provides plays a key part in the overall management of the Planned Maintenance Program, overseeing funding allocations, developing and documenting processes, producing reporting and data analysis for the program, including:

  • review applications for funding allocations, including reviewing project scopes and costs
  • engaging with delivery partners on proposed projects to ensure they align with program guidelines
  • develops and documents processes for reviewing project scopes and costs
  • develops and produces monthly reports and dashboards on funding allocations
  • completes data collection and analysis on project scopes and costs to inform continuous development of the program
  • other tasks including general process development and responding to requests for information

The role also includes providing information and data analysis for the annual State Budget bid for the program.
