Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Centre for Population Health (CPH) aims to promote health and prevent morbidity and mortality caused by modifiable risk factors. The CPH portfolio encompasses blood borne viruses, sexual health, tobacco and obesity. The strategies used to address these issues include state-wide policy and planning, legislation and regulation, program development, resource allocation, performance monitoring, research and evaluation.
This role is based in the Early Childhood and Schools team which provides state-wide leadership in healthy eating and active living initiatives in schools and early childhood settings to foster healthy habits for life. This includes partnering with key stakeholders such as the Department of Education, Independent and Catholic school sectors, early childhood sector stakeholders and local health districts to support the design, delivery, evaluation, monitoring and dissemination of programs into primary schools, secondary schools, and early childhood settings.
Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $125,693 - $138,510 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Building and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with colleagues in the school and early childhood sectors and NSW Health
  • Designing, commissioning and delivering key childhood obesity prevention programs based on the best available local, national and international evidence
  • Analysing evidence, data and stakeholder views to provide strategic advice to senior decision makers
  • Proactively identifying and effectively managing stakeholder and implementation risks
  • Scoping, planning and managing the delivery of the agreed program of work within required timeframe and budget
