Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

This role supports and coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of projects and initiatives to ensure that the Hunter Central Coast District (HCC) is able to meet its service commitments.
The Hunter and Central Coast District has upcoming temporary relief opportunities for a Senior Project Officer in the Business and Executive Support team. The team, led by the District Senior Executive Officer, is the main contact point for the district. The team works collaboratively with all business streams and provides support to the executive leaders.
The Senior Project Officer leads the allocations team and is responsible for ensuring that all correspondence leaving the district is accurate, of high quality and is within timeframes. The Senior Project Officer currently manages 3 employees (2 x Project Officers and 1 x Business Support Officer) providing oversight, supervision and support to the team members. Managing the team includes coordinating allocation of work, performance management and professional development.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As part of the business and executive support team, you will provide strategic oversight of projects and initiatives and manage stakeholder relationships. You will advise stakeholders and keep them informed on HCC district issues and initiatives.

You will:

  • Manage and oversee projects
  • Monitor and evaluate all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures
  • Manage a project team/s, ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver all key project/s milestones and outcomes

As the Senior Project Officer, you will:

  • Work closely with teams across the district developing strong relationships
  • Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage multi-faceted projects with tight timeframes and deadlines.
  • Work in collaboration with all stakeholders
  • Have excellent skills in written communication, preparing and reviewing ministerial correspondence
  • A demonstrated ability to analyse and critique documentation and information from a variety of sources.
  • Knowledge of machinery of government and procedures and systems required for the management of ministerial correspondence, briefings and parliamentary material is also desired.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of ChildStory.
  • Have advanced skills in using Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and Excel, Miniapp and One TRIM.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications relevant to the role and /or equivalent experience
