  • Two ongoing Senior Project Officer roles
  • Located at Bobbin Head Office (Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park) or Audley (Royal National Park)
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 plus employers contribution to superannuation and leave loading

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
  • Project management skills and experience with an understanding of contemporary best practice in procurement, tendering and contract preparation, in managing project teams, consultants and contractors, and in applying environmental safety and risk management policies and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and reviewing strategic plans, policies and programs, and in providing strategic and operational advice and recommendations to senior management.

Responsibilities

National Parks and Wildlife Service has two opportunities for Senior Project Officers to work in NPWS Greater Sydney Branch’s infrastructure delivery teams.
The NPWS Greater Sydney Branch leads implementation of a range of programs across more than 50 National Parks and reserves including Royal National Park, the second oldest national park in the world, and Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, the second oldest national park in Australia. Our parks host more than 19 million visits each year and we are delivering a major program to improve visitor infrastructure in key visitor precincts and enhance heritage buildings and places, many of which are listed on the NSW State Heritage Register and/or the National Heritage List.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with the initiative, ability, and desire to work in small, dynamic, and productive team. Previous achievement in delivering infrastructure or construction projects within a natural or cultural landscape will be highly regarded. An understanding of procurement and contract management would be desirable.
