Purpose: We are currently recruiting for a Senior/Lead Project Planner. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Work Conditions: Home Office (Monday to Thursday in Office, Friday as remote) 40 hours per week. Some periodic site travel may be requested. Ability to travel and work from remote work locations at various points in the project life-cycle. Position Description: This position will be responsible for establishing overall, integrated EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) P6 schedules, including schedules for bids/proposal. Candidate is expected to fully understand all aspects of the EPCM life cycle as it relates to schedules, how to achieve integration amongst several contributors (i.e. Contractors schedules), and how to properly resource load in all phases of the project. In addition, they will need to utilize all the tooling available to them to achieve these goals, including: deliverable lists, engineering and procurement flow charts, 3D models, work packages, drawings, and estimating information. In addition to building these schedules, and most importantly, the planner/scheduler will be required to provide ongoing updates, maintenance, and analysis of their schedules. The planner/scheduler will consider identification of issues often and early as instrumental to the success of their role. They should be able to identify solutions for most of the common issues with this type of schedule and correct for them without intervention from project or client management. The Planner/Scheduler will provide detailed time analysis to the integrated project team and will inform them of potential delays and/or opportunities in an expeditious fashion. Able to perform and excel in a fast-paced environment and willingness to be flexible depending on departmental requirements e.g. accountability for multiple projects may be expected. Responsibilities: Create and maintain master schedules (Level I-V) based on specific project requirements/needs based on inputs from multiple departments. Development and maintenance of resource loaded project master schedule as per the project WBS. Be able to identify all interface points between schedule groups and create appropriate MIS (Milestone Interface Schedules). Create and manage EPS coding dictionaries that allow for analysis across all schedules. Ensure Key activities and schedule milestone dates identified in the schedule basis are captured as part of project master schedule. Development of the Basis of Schedule document . Coordinate with all stakeholders on the project, including: Internal management, Engineering and Procurement leads, Construction Leads, Turnover and Commissioning groups, and Client representatives. Update the schedule with progress tracking information and ensure earned progress in scorecard aligns with schedule update. Knowledge on earning rules of credits, scorecard setup and its integration with regular schedule updates. Determine the quality of schedule using Acumen Fuse and resolve any shortcomings. Prior experience on conducting schedule risk analysis using Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) software will be considered an asset. Assess schedule impacts as part of the management of change procedure and modify the schedule to reflect all approved changes. Organize various Inter Active Planning (IAP) sessions throughout the project life cycle. Coordinate with Workface planning groups throughout the project to ensure proper decomposition of packages can be represented within the schedules. Closely monitor schedule milestones and other key activity/deliverable dates and notify project team of any variances and initiate schedule mitigation. Assess schedule impacts as part of the management of change procedure and modify the schedule to reflect all approved changes. Coordinate with contractors and vendors in development and management of their schedule including schedule interface process. Organize required schedule reviews with project personnel. Assist project controls specialists on updating the various progressing systems and apply progress to the live schedule. Ensure contractors and vendors progress is applied the live schedule, and where they are unable to do themselves, perform this for them. Position the schedule data as the source for all time phasing on the project and work to ensure that most scrutiny possible is applied to the schedule data so that its data can be used for all other time phased needs (i.e. – Cashflow, Commodities, Resourcing, etc.) Create and maintain several schedule views and layouts, including: 90 day lookaheads, 3 week lookaheads, critical path, and other as required. Coordinate with leads from each phase on all schedule updates, ensure ad-hock (MS project or Excel) schedule maintained outside or P6 align with the project master schedule. Review with all stakeholders the variance analysis after every schedule update and address those as part of the reporting narratives. Assist Project Controls in the development of skyline charts for EWP IFC, Module assembly, System walkdowns and Turnover. Be willing to update and maintain reporting views that are reliant on schedule data, including updating Power BI reports and ensuring schedule data is represented correctly in all reporting where is it used. Incorporate approved changes in the schedule and analyze the impact of changes to the project critical path. Provide feedback to key stakeholders as to the overall status of the project, inclusive but not limited to: Critical Path Analysis. Resource Forecasting/Histogram Preparation. Provide forecast to Project Controls for generation of reports. Provide information required for internal and external reporting. What you will bring: Technical and Industry Experience: Experience in an integrated, geographically diverse design team environment. Previous experience to all project phases, including: Study. FEED (Front End Engineering and Design). Detail Engineering. Capital Equipment Procurement. Fabrication and Modulization. Field Construction. Commissioning. Minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience with Primavera P6, including in an EPCM setting, Proficient in development of Primavera (P6) scheduling and reporting. Ability to read and understand relevant SOW (scope of work) and estimating documents. Ability to utilize 3D modelling software such as Navisworks. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in English, and excellent skills in communication and attaining information in a fast-paced environment. General knowledge of IT programs used in estimating and project controls. Thorough knowledge of schedule principles in their application to projects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work under pressure on complex issues across multiple projects. Knowledge on Power BI, Acumen Fuse and PRA will be considered an asset. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Required: Engineering Degree or Certified Journeyperson with relevant experience.
