Our client is looking to source a Senior Property Accountant for a 1-Month Contract.

About the Opportunity

  • Manage full-cycle accounting duties for a diverse commercial real estate portfolio
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and reports within established deadlines
  • Perform variance analysis to explain financial trends and anomalies
  • Support the integration of new properties into the accounting system, ensuring smooth transitions
  • Assist with internal and external audits by compiling necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Collaborate closely with property managers and other departments to ensure alignment of financial performance
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvement and implement process enhancements
  • Provide guidance and informal training to junior accounting staff
  • Ensure all financial practices comply with relevant policies and industry standards

About You

  • Over 5 years of progressive experience in commercial property accounting roles
  • Deep understanding of real estate accounting practices and month-end/year-end close processes
  • Adept in financial software systems, with hands-on experience using Yardi for reporting and property management
  • Strong command of Excel functions and tools for budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations
  • Track record of consistently meeting tight financial deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Actively working toward CPA designation; hold relevant post-secondary education in accounting or finance
  • Recognized for strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Known for a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous process improvement
