SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

A property management company specializing in multifamily affordable housing is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to work in the main office located in Tustin, CA. This position will be an instrumental part of a small accounting team and be responsible for full cycle accounting for a Residential Portfolio. The Companies have very low turnover and maintain a very reputable presence in Orange County.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible, under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, for regularly reviewing monthly financials and financial statements, executing annual tax planning, preparing and assisting CPAs with tax returns, and executing monthly and annual reporting requirements. The Senior Accountant is expected to assist Property Accountants for properties in their portfolio and to review/approve financials for all assigned properties. The position is full-time, exempt. Experience in property management properties subject to Affordable Housing programs including LIHTC is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviews financials for assigned property portfolio
  • Prepares and assists CPAs with yearly tax returns and audits.
  • Executes annual tax planning process.
  • Monitors personal financials and financial statements for Principals.
  • Supports Development Department on TCAC applications.
  • Assists with oversight of financials related to tax auditing on all entities.
  • Assists with TCAC Annual Operating Expense processes.
  • Assists with review of new entity financials.
  • Assists with review of new residual receipts. Records and monitors debt stabilization process.
  • Assists with review of new operations packages and perm conversion.
  • Assists with budgeting and forecasting on all entities.
  • Assists with new entity formation.
  • Assists with annual creation of the Master REO (“Blackbook”).
  • Assists with tracking and payment of Statements of Information.
  • Assists with and reviews C&C Development annual audit.
  • Assists with C&C Receivables.
  • Answers inquiries regarding Lender/Owner investment reporting.
  • Reports to Accounting Manager, Director of Operations and Owners on a regular basis, as directed.
  • Adherence to Fair Housing Laws

Salary and Benefits:
