Description

Vaco is working with a dynamic and growing real estate organization managing a diverse portfolio of properties. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our accounting team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management of our portfolio.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of property-level accounting, including monthly closes, financial reporting, and variance analysis. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, hands-on experience with Yardi property management software, and the ability to collaborate closely with property managers to ensure operational and financial goals are met.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of property or multi-location/multi-entity accounting experience, .
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager (or other Yardi platforms) is highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and property management accounting practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with property managers and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard business software
    Salary expectations- $90-95K depending on level of experience and relevancy

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the full-cycle accounting process for assigned properties, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company standards and deadlines.
  • Conduct variance analyses and provide explanations for budget-to-actual differences.
  • Maintain and update property records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with property managers to review financial performance, discuss operating results, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor cash flow, approve invoices, and oversee tenant billing and rent collections.
  • Assist with annual budgets, audits, and tax package preparation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
