Opportunity to be involvedThe Underwriting Analyst plays an important role in supporting ARPC’s premium audit function while also contributing to underwriting activities across the Terrorism and Cyclone portfolios. Reporting to the Director Underwriting Terrorism and Premium Audit, you will combine, data analytics and underwriting support to strengthen cedant reviews, identify trends and anomalies, improve data quality and support evidence-based decision making. Responsibilities
  • Role responsibilitiesSupport the design and delivery of ARPC’s cedant premium review program.
  • Analyse cedant premium and data submissions to identify trends, anomalies, inconsistencies and cedant review priorities.
  • Apply quantitative analytics and statistical techniques to supportplanning, sampling and risk assessment, and develop dashboards and visualisations for findings and stakeholder reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT and Actuarial teams to improve data quality, structure and accessibility, and prepare clear reports and contribute to discussions with cedants on review outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across cedant review program and processes, support premium refund and offset activities, and contribute to the annual premium reviews.
  • Support underwriting administration across the Terrorism and Cyclone portfolios in accordance with ARPC guidelines, processes and service standards.
  • Assist with cedant declarations, agreements, endorsements and premium reporting, including identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
  • Support technical underwriting enquiries and research emerging insurance products to help determine their appropriate treatment within the Terrorism and Cyclone pools.
  • Contribute to practice guides, technical materials and underwriting documentation that support consistent underwriting practices and cedant compliance.
  • Participate in audit projects, stakeholder meetings, system testing for underwriting and claims, and broader underwriting activities as required.
